Sudeep Chatterjee is a highly accomplished legal professional with over two decades of experience in intellectual property (IP) law. He holds an LL.B. from Lucknow University (2000) and an M.Sc. in Software Development and Software Engineering, equipping him with a rare blend of legal acumen and technical expertise. At ASM StratConsult LLP, he plays a pivotal role in providing strategic legal advisory across IP protection, enforcement, and policy development.

Sudeep’s core expertise lies in copyright and trademark infringement, domain-related disputes (particularly UDRP complaints), data protection, and anti-counterfeiting enforcement. He has led numerous high-stakes civil and criminal raids against counterfeiting operations and has advised top corporations on IP strategy, litigation, and compliance. He has been actively involved in complex litigation matters and the formulation of robust data protection and anti-counterfeiting mechanisms.

His influence extends beyond litigation into policy and legislation. Sudeep was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee for the Copyright Amendment Bill, 2010, and continues to serve as a regular adviser to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. His insights have contributed significantly to shaping India’s evolving IP framework.

Sudeep is also a well-recognized leader in global legal circles. He serves as the Secretary of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), Indian Group, and is a Council Member and active contributor to the APAA Copyright Committee. He has been an engaged member of INTA since 2008, participating in committees focused on trademarks, non-traditional marks, and enforcement (2022–2025).
