Environmental degradation and climate change are global challenges where actions in one region affect ecosystems across the world. Estimates suggest that if appropriate action is not taken, nearly 3 billion people could face chronic water scarcity, and the global economy could lose up to 18% of GDP by 2050.

Although several macro-level measures have been implemented globally—such as policy reforms, economic incentives, and regulations—actions at the level of individuals, communities, and institutions have received limited attention.

Changing daily behaviour can significantly impact environmental and climate outcomes. According to UNEP, if one billion people adopt environment-friendly habits, global carbon emissions could drop by approximately 20%.
